Studies on the Modification of Commercial Bisphenol-A-Based Epoxy Resin Using Different Multifunctional Epoxy Systems

The tensile fracture mechanics and thermo-mechanical properties of mixtures composed two kinds epoxy resins different chemical structures functional groups were studied. base resin was a bi-functional based on diglycidyl ether bisphenol-A (DGEBA) the other (a) distilled triglycidylether meta-amino phenol (b) 1, 6–naphthalene di (c) fluorene epoxy. This research shows that small number multifunctional systems, both di- tri-functional, can significantly increase strength (14%) over neat DGEBA while having no negative impact mechanical including glass transition temperature elastic modulus. In fact, when compared to unmodified DGEBA, tri-functional slight (5%) in at 10 wt.% concentration. enhanced crosslinking (90 wt.%)/distilled (10 wt.%) blends may be possible reason for improved transition. Finally, influence strain rate, moisture investigated best performing modified system. steadily outperformed by its counterpart every condition.
